Varsity girls basketball as a new comer...

Casey Williams is a class of 2013 junior here at Sacramento high school  and I chose her as the person to interview for varsity girls basketball because she is a varsity player. She is a powerful guard who loves to make a quick spin move down the court. She loves to listen to The Glamorous Life by the Jaka before the game and her traditions are fixing her bun so its perfect and swallowing her gum. She is number 10, and she chose that number because when she was younger she loved to watch Mike Bibby who was also number 10. Her inspiration is LeBron James because he is a great hardworking player who has accomplished many goals. She first realized that she loved and had the talent for basketball in the third grade. It is her first year here as a transfer from Inderkum High School. I wanted to know her experiences so far at Sacramento High and if this school's basketball program has helped her succeed in any way; mentally, physically and/or emotionally. Here are her responses to my question. Casey Williams has been playing basketball at Sac high for about 6 months because she is a transfer from Inderkum High School. Casey enjoys playing basketball at Sac High because it makes her work hard and she is in a positive and inspiring environment. Casey believes that Sac high provides a very good education and has helped her on and off the court to be a better person and focus on the impotent things such as; school, family and basketball. Casey's motives as a Sac high player is to take the opportunities Sac High offers and use them to the fullest. Sac High makes Casey feel complete as a person because Without Sac High she wouldn't be the person she is today. Before she came to Sac High, Her freshmen and sophomore year, she had some bad experiences but Sac Highs school and basketball program has given her the opportunity to change and she says she has. Sac high Has helped her conquer her dreams so far as a basketball player. She has gotten letters from many colleges including Santa Clara, UNLV etc. Casey says that she would still like to achieve a full ride scholarship to college and dunk by her senior year :). Before coming to Sac High Casey's biggest weakness was downing herself. She has currently been working on overcoming this weakness and the staff of coaches here are helping her with it. If Casey could give a freshmen a word of advise as a new comer into Sac High varsity basketball she would say "just because you are a freshmen doesn't mean that you cannot be a leader and be a pig part of the team". "You have to have a good mental game to play for coach Massari and she will help you achieve your goals if you work hard". Casey says that there is not much you can change about sac high for school and basketball but if she had to choose she would make the jerseys black and purple.
