Art & Copy

~  The 5 things I learned during this film are ;
1. Nike got their slogan from an execution when the man said let's do it, but they changed it to just do it.
2. The Apple industry came from being a small company to being one of the biggest computer companies in the world.
3. Apple spent 7 billion dollars in bill boarding.
4. The Latin dancing influenced Apple to have people Latin dancing with ipods as their logo.
5. 2.7 million dollars were spent on NFL Superbowl advertisements.

~ Advertisement launched Tommy Hilfiger's career and help him become as famous as he is today. Tommy Hilfiger became one of the top 4 man's clothes designers.

~ 2.7 million dollars to put an add in the Superbowl. This cost this much because the Superbowl is known for it's commercials and  it is great for advertising.

~Advertisement is like art because it can be presented in many different ways and catches peoples attention.

~ Advertisement is like pollution because some advertisement can harm people.

~ The Nike " Just do it " slogan made it so that many people were more confident and were able to pursue certain things.

Today in the world....

                                                       10 Facts About Today

1.  Will Syria listen to anyone as crisis grows?
(CNN) -- Syria has faced a chorus of criticism over its eight-month crackdown on opposition protesters that has left, according to sources reporting to the U.N., at least 3,500 people dead. The regime is showing no indication it will soften its position, so will President Bashar al-Assad be open to any outside influence?

2.  East-West split threatens nuclear unity on Iran
The U.S. and its Western allies face an unpalatable choice over Iran at a key U.N. atomic agency meeting Thursday. They can defy Russia and China with a demand that the Islamic Republic start answering questions on its alleged secret nuclear arms program or face renewed referral to the U.N. Security Council. Or they can settle for a milder rebuke of Tehran that leaves the big powers formally speaking with one voice but leaves the world's hands tied in investigating the suspicions about Iran.

3. Italy goes "from bunga bunga                to banca banca"
In seven tumultuous days Italy has gone, as one cartoonist put it, "from Bunga Bunga to Banca Banca". The first refers to the name that former Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi bestowed on the wild parties he allegedly held with bevies of young starlets and prostitutes at his villas.

4.  NBA players file antitrust lawsuits against league

NBA players kept offering economic concessions, and it was never enough to satisfy owners. So with no labor deal and no place else to go, players decided to take their fight to the courtroom. The locked-out players, including Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Durant, filed class-action antitrust lawsuits against the league on Tuesday in at least two states, saying David Stern's ultimatums left them no other choice.

5. Inside Occupy Wall Street’s (Kinda) Secret Media HQ

The revolution may never be televised, but if Occupy activists in a semi-secret media war room in New York’s Bowery district have their way, it will be livestreamed.
Police seizures at occupations, as at the flagship camp in New York City on Tuesday, not to mention rain, cold and theft, are horrible for expensive media gear, as Occupy Wall Street found after setting up an ad hoc media operation in Manhattan’s Zuccotti Park in September.
6. Hall of Famer Forrest Gregg fighting Parkinson's
Forrest Gregg, who earned the nickname "Iron Man" for playing in a then-record 188 consecutive NFL games during his Hall of Fame career, has told The Associated Press he's been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease.Although the cause of the debilitating neurological disorder is unknown, Gregg, his family and his neurologist say his disease may be related to numerous concussions he suffered during his playing career in the 1950s at SMU and from 1956-71 with the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys.
7. Hamilton wins Abu Dhabi GP to silence critics
ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates (AP)—At times this season, Lewis Hamilton has been little more than a distraction at Formula One races, colliding with fellow drivers, ranting against race stewards and, most recently, breaking up with his pop singer girlfriend.
8. Accel Partners Announces Closing of $155 Million Seed and Early Stage Fund for India

10. Vivendi Said to Seek $431 Million in Activision Share Sale

Apple

Many word have been used to describe Steve jobs , the creator of Apple, while he was alive. The adjectives used use to describe Steve Jobs were words such as him being one of most visionary. charismatic and powerful men in the world. Steve jobs was not only a part of Apple but he was also a part of revolutionizing many things as technology for phone industry, music industry, and had a knack for computers etc. The differences between Steve jobs of apple and bill gates of Microsoft word the two most successful people in the world of personal computing. Steve jobs was driven by people and what makes them mad while Bill Gates was driven my many equations economics and numbers. As you can see Gates was more on the nerdy side while Jobs was more of a lifestyle hippie type of person. Jobs wanted to make peoples lifestyle easier which is why he decided to create devices according to peoples everyday  lives. Gates wanted to create operating systems  that took over the world and office productions that went on every computer every where. The differences between Steve jobs and Bill gates reflected their jobs in a big way. The company Apple appeals to peoples everyday lives which was exactly what Steve jobs implied that he wanted to do with his creations. The Microsoft word program can be used on any computer anywhere in the world and is more technological then the apple products and bill gates personality reflects this, because he is more nerdy in a sense of technological and economical  advances. Steve Jobs was able to be successful because he implemented his ideas to the average persons everyday life which was convenient to all people and may people bought his products. Apple helped revolutionize many companies such as the retail industries and Macintosh and Power Mac. I do think that that the Apple industry that Steve Jobs has created had the major impact that the film described, because h e has influences and helped so many other companies. I use Apple products every day my computer my ipod and my parents use it also because they have apple phones. Apple is used by almost everybody and is a very popular brand and Steve Jobs has made it the successful company that it is today.

The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne

The Scarlet Letter:  This is a classic novel which I am currently reading in my A.P English 11 class. This is a great book about a woman who is constantly judged because of her past and present actions. This women Is confident and strong by showing nothing will break her down even when she is at her worst. The style, the theme, the characters & the plot is just different from what we are reading these days but it is truly a masterpiece.
